Meet the baby product guru – Carolyn Webster

Family has always been the primary focus of Carolyn’s life. Originally from New Zealand, she moved with her family to Broadmeadows, Australia when she was two-years-old. Both her mother and father worked hard to support Carolyn and her brother and sisters. Although they lacked material things, they made up for it with love and laughter.

After Carolyn had her 2nd child, she began to work part time as a salesperson in a baby store. At that time, she never dreamed that working with new parents and parents-to-be would be her passion. As a single mother of two boys, when life presented her with personal struggles, it was the joy she found in her work that kept her going.

As her career progressed, Carolyn worked for several baby stores including Mothercare, BabyBunting. Her responsibilities included training staff and opening new stores.

She has also worked as a baby product developer for CNP Brands. This job greatly expanded her knowledge about the design of baby products and related safety issues. She takes pride in the fact that products that she helped design were sold in major retail outlets including Target.

During her more than 15 years in the industry, Carolyn has work with and sold a long list of brands that includes Boori , Baby Chic, Chicco, Madella, Britax, Gr8x, Baby Jogger, Avent, Nuk, Roger Armstrong, Bugaboo, Steelcraft, and Baby Bjorn. In 2013, Carolyn opened her own business working as an agent for brands in the baby industry.

Having had a long career in the baby industry, Carolyn is still frustrated by how much parents-to-be are misled by incorrect information. Because she understands that they need guidance, Carolyn’s greatest reward is providing personalized advice and step-by-step instruction. Many of the parents that she’s helped have become good friends.

Carolyn’s love for supporting children and young people has led to a rich life of volunteerism. After completing Panda training for Home Start volunteers, she’s worked to empower mothers. Carolyn has also worked with Mummies and Babies in need as well as the Red Nose Day initiative to raise awareness of sudden infant death syndrome.

Her volunteer activities also include being a street collector for Save the Children. Their back-to-school program supported a large number of children who escaped the conflict in Syria by fleeing to Jordan and Lebanon. Having spent time on the board of Syria and in Israel, this project was close to her heart.

Carolyn’s love for enjoying the diversity of world cultures has guided her travels. She has visited Fiji Island, Noumea, Lifou, Vila, Suva, Port Denarau, Mystery Island, Bali, Israel, Jordan, Dubai, and Egypt.

Carolyn lives in Melbourne Australia with her 2 sons.
